Second Grade News! Week of January 21, 2020
REMINDER: Students should have a St. Ambrose uniform sweater, sweatshirt, or long sleeve shirt to wear at school when it is cold. It is not short sleeve weather in our classroom and many kids are needing to wear a non uniform sweater to keep warm. Please send kids with something uniform that is warm. Thank you!
Tickets on sale through Friday!

Curriculum News
Reading: We will continue reading Non Fiction books and finding important information using text features. We will also continue to focus on vowel teams.
Math: We will finish Chapter 4 this week. A review packet will be sent home Wednesday. This is a difficult chapter and I recommend working on the study guide with your student. The test will be Wednesday, January 29th.
Writing: We wrote about our own dream after listening to some of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech. We also spent more time revising our Christmas narrative and will be turning it into a published book!
Science: We have been observing and make notes about our seeds. Many of our seeds have started to grow roots. A few have not started to grow and we will discuss why that may be.
Spelling: Spelling Lesson 13. Spelling homework is p. 67-70 in books. Please do one page a night. Books must be returned by Friday! There are no replacements available so please keep books clean and safe.
