Religion (Grades 1-6)

Here we are January 2020! I want everyone to know about this amazing journey I am on with your children. To have this privilege of teaching and talking about our faith, to see the excitement in your children, and to help with your child's sacraments has been wonderful.
Grade 1: We are learning that everyone and thing that God has made has a purpose. God made us to be loving people and realize that He wants us to be happy with Him in Heaven.
Grade 2: Our journey continues as we prepare to celebrate the Sacraments of Penance and Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. We have been exploring ways of saying "I'm sorry" and understand the nature of contrition. Above all, recognize that God loves us and rejoices when we repent. (Please note: First Reconciliation will be Tuesday February 11 at 6 pm in Church)
Grade 3: we are working to understand that Jesus teaches the Good News by the authority of God. We are also exploring the meaning of the Great Commandment and to how to show love to neighbors.
Grade 4: Jesus wants us to follow the Ten Commandments. He also wants us to learn and live the Beatitudes. We are studying how they correlate with each other.
Grades 5/6: We need to realize that we receive special graces in Baptism and Confirmation. We also need to understand the concept of conversion and learn about the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit.
