I've been teaching full-time at St. Ambrose since September 2009. My first five years were spent teaching kindergarten and have since transitioned to the Academic Intervention Specialist which allows me to support struggling learniners and enrich those who need to be challenged. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), Master of Science in Literacy (Birth-grade 6).
I have been happily married to my husband, Jeff Campito since July 2011. We met at age 3 while attending nursery school at St. Mary’s, Crescent in Halfmoon. We built our "forever" home in Halfmoon in 2019 and are thrilled with the way it has changed our lives. We were Blessed with our first child, Grace in June of 2013. She has been a member of the St. Ambrose School community since September 2016. Our family was completed in June 2016 when our son, Dylan was born. He joined the St. Ambrose Community in September 2019
I love being here at St. Ambrose for the community. I come to school each day to be with family. That’s what I want for my own children as well. I want the kids who walk through our doors to know they are loved, appreciated and have so much to be proud of. I love being in a place where my voice is valued and I can teach students the way THEY need to be taught, not how I’m told to teach the students in front of me.
My family also includes my "fur baby", Sawyer. He is a Siberian Husky who is now conidered to be a senior dog. Don't tell him that, he hasn't ggotten that memo.
. Outside of school, I like to have experiences with my family. We will explore a new area, go to a fun place for the kids or try a new restaurant.
My favorite memory at St. Ambrose was the talent show in January 2017. I found myself tearing up watching students who have been with us for several years get up on stage and show off a talent I didn’t know they had. In many ways, our students become our children and I feel like a proud mom watching the students shine in their moments.
