Erin has 15 years experience working in early care and education. She earned an AAS in Child Development and a BS in Child Care Management from Southern Vermont College and a Masters in Education (Early Childhood) from the College of Saint Rose. She is NYS certified to teach grades Pre-K - 2.
Prior to joining the teaching staff at St. Ambrose, Erin taught preschool at Sacred Heart Elementary in Troy and filled a 3rd-grade long-term substitute position at St. Pius X. She has also been employed as the Director of several center-based child care centers in the Capital District.
After school, Erin is the mother of 4 young boys (who range in age from 5 to 16). Weekday afternoons and evenings are filled with homework, baseball, and Tae Kwon Do. Erin spends many weekends in Saranac Lake, where she and her family enjoy everything outdoors with one exception: while the boys do the fishing, Erin prefers her book.
Ms. Quirk has been teaching at St. Ambrose for 9 years.
Why are you at St. Ambrose?: When I found St. Ambrose almost 10 years ago, I found the perfect fit for me. Here, I am able to provide faith-based early care and education to my students in a fun, loving, and supportive Catholic community.
Pets: Black lab, Bruce, and other assorted chickens, fish, rodents, and reptiles.
Last book read/favorite book?: hmm, the last book I really loved: Game of Thrones series
Favorite St. Ambrose Memory: There have been so many...probably watching my own sons grow up while attending St. Ambrose and sharing that time together with them each day.
