Hi everyone!

Music is moving along...
 

PreK 3s are learning about different types of voices (speak, sing, whisper, shout, and think). They are also listening for beat/no beat; same/different; quiet, loud; fast/ slow. They are amazing!
Pre k4s are learning to listen to directions and execute tasks; sing a song; add steady beat movements to a song; follow a 4 step movement pattern. Awesome!

5th and 6th also are learning to read from notation and sing a song that includes ties and pickups.
Grades 4, 5, and 6 have just been introduced to the Belle Plates. They have been working on "Identify the Note" to review notation. 4th Grade has been also learning to move to show strong and weak beats.
Grade 3 is working with rhythm patterns from notation that include 8th, 1/4, notes and rests.
Grades Kdg, 1st, and 2nd have been working on steady beat, and melodic rhythm using movement and body precussion. Love their creativity!

We will soon be getting ready for our Christmas Play.
I am asking all students in Kdg-Grade 6 wear plain red or green t-shirts with no logos of any kind.
Girls are to wear red, boys to wear green. All students can wear black pants or skirts.

• The Instrumental music students finished the year strong! They did an amazing job at their concert and all scored excellent or outstanding at NYSSMA solo festival! Keep encouraging your musicians and have them keep playing (even if it's only fun music!) over the summer.
