Children normally receive their First Reconciliation and First Communion in the 2nd grade. Preparation for the sacrament is a two-year process, beginning in the 1st grade.
Our preparation program is a mix of classroom formation, retreat sessions, and family formation. Please contact us today if you would like your child to begin preparation for the Sacraments.
If your child is older and has not yet made the Sacraments, please let us know! It's never too late to begin preparation for the Sacraments and we will find a way to tailor the program to accommodate your older child.
The complete sacrament record is compiled at the child’s parish of Baptism. Therefore, part of the registration includes providing us with a copy of the child's baptismal certificate. If the church of baptism is not St. Ambrose, a copy of the candidate’s baptismal certificate must be provided as part of this application. You can email a copy of the baptismal certificate or stop by and the office can copy it for you.
