Admission and Fees for students (Pre K-8)
Admission Policy: Roman Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Albany base their educational purpose and all their activities on the Christian teaching of the essential quality of all persons as rooted in God's love. St. Ambrose School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, disability, sexual orientation, and gender in administration of educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs. A generous financial aid program enables the school to welcome families of students in grades 1-8 of various financial resources.
Pre-K 3 is open to children who will be three years old by September 1st.
Pre-K 4 is open to children who will be four years old by December 1st.
Kindergarten is open to children who will be five years old by December 1st.
In addition, all students must be toilet-trained.
Application and Application Fee: The admission process begins each February with the Saint Ambrose student application, and, for current St. Ambrose students in grades 1-8, a financial aid application. The process also includes a holistic evaluation of the child's readiness for our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs. This assessment for our Pre-K and Kindergarten program includes a classroom visit. It is highly recommended, too, that students applying for admission to grades 1-8 also spend a day visiting the school and meeting the teachers and our present students. Should your child successfully complete assessment and the visit, s/he will be invited to register for the upcoming school year. There is a non-refundable $100.00 registration fee for families with one student and $175.00 for families with more than one student. Once the fee is paid, the child's seat in the class will be held until the first non-refundable tuition payment is made on August. Tuition is paid on a 10-month payment plan (11-month plans are available.) through FACTS Tuition Management Company.
The School Board also approved a revised registration fee schedule:
One child- $100.00
Family- $175.00
*The activity fee will supplant any further collection of money for student field trips or classroom activities.
A registration of any student is completed when the registration fee is received. Thank you.
